Study In France

France — the world's most visited country — is one of Europe's top study destinations, welcoming over 400,000 international students every year. With an academic heritage stretching back to the Sorbonne (founded 1257), France combines centuries of scholarly tradition with a vibrant modern university system. HEC Paris is ranked #1 in Europe for business, École Polytechnique was founded by Napoleon Bonaparte, and Sciences Po is the training ground for France's political and diplomatic elite. All French public university applications for Indian students are managed through the Campus France portal — France's official government platform for international student admissions.

French public university fees are remarkably affordable — just EUR 3,770 per year for master's programmes for all international students including Indians. This makes France one of Europe's most cost-effective study destinations — a fraction of UK or USA tuition costs. France additionally offers over 1,500 fully English-taught programmes across engineering, business, computer science, international relations, fashion, and hospitality. Grandes Écoles such as HEC Paris, ESSEC, École Polytechnique, and Sciences Po are world-class but charge higher fees; however, their alumni networks and employer relationships are unmatched in Europe.

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship — France's most prestigious government scholarship — covers full tuition plus EUR 1,181 per month living allowance for master's students and EUR 1,400 per month for PhD students. Indian students must complete mandatory Campus France registration before applying to French universities — Prosper Overseas provides full Campus France registration support. The VLS-TS (Visa de Long Séjour valant Titre de Séjour) is France's long-stay student visa. After graduation, students receive a 1-year APS (Autorisation Provisoire de Séjour) post-study work permit, allowing them to seek employment anywhere in France without a job offer.

France's quality of life is extraordinary. Paris — the City of Light — is the global capital of fashion, art, gastronomy, and culture. The French Riviera, Alps skiing, Bordeaux wine country, Versailles, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower make France an unmatched living experience. A large and growing Indian community of 120,000+ is concentrated in Paris, Lyon, and Marseille, with Indian restaurants, Hindu temples, and cultural associations widely available. As an EU member state, France gives students Schengen access to 26 European countries — making France an ideal base for exploring Europe during semester breaks.
